Responsibilities
Defend complex claims from investigation and discovery through dispositive motions and appeals
Appear in court daily for hearings, arguments, and witness examinations in high-stakes matters
Draft persuasive briefs and strategies for summary judgments in environmental and civil rights cases
Coordinate multi-party defenses as lead or coordinating counsel for consistent, winning outcomes
Prepare and second-chair trials, building toward first-chair opportunities in prolonged, impactful litigation
Qualification
Required
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
Active New York State Bar admission
2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in defense litigation
Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage a substantial caseload and work independently
Experience with environmental litigation, public sector defense, civil rights, and professional liability
Demonstrated ability to appear in court and handle hearings and witness examinations
Proven track record of drafting persuasive legal documents and strategies
