Responsibilities
This position is responsible for managing the inventory of supplies for the Columbus Consolidated Government
Purchases supplies and distributes supplies to supervisors; performs special orders as needed
Inspects incoming deliveries for quality and quantity; contact vendors regarding incorrect deliveries
Orders uniforms; checks divisional budget accounts to ensure that funds are available for uniform and boot purchases
Assists other sections within Integrated Waste as needed
Performs other related duties as needed
Qualification
Required
Knowledge of inventory control techniques
Knowledge of basic accounting practices
Knowledge of the standard office equipment
Knowledge of general office procedures such as filing, coding, and bookkeeping
Skill in the use of computers
Skill in maintaining records
Skill in oral and written communication
Ability to read, write, and perform basic calculations
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Knowledge and level of competency are commonly associated with the completion of specialized training in the occupational field, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education
Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years
