The internship offers an opportunity to learn about workers' compensation insurance underwriting and assist underwriting professionals with various tasks, focusing on customer experience and risk evaluation.

Responsibilities
Assist underwriters with reviewing and evaluating workers compensation insurance applications to determine acceptance or denial of risks to promote company profitability
Communicate with agents, brokers and policyholders to provide service and solutions to their underwriting and policy inquiries
Work closely with supervisor and trainers on assignments, and manage competing priorities to be accountable for delivering results
Demonstrate ownership of assignments to complete them within expected timelines, and communicate any issues preventing completion with your team lead, and participate in solutions to resolve and overcome the issues
Complete technical underwriting training to gain authority and other responsibilities
Learn about and use data analysis to identify opportunities for efficiencies in process and product
Display initiative to generate solutions in both every day work, as well as projects
Qualification
Required
Pursuing a Bachelor's degree
Ability to incorporate training into real-world situations
Strong customer orientation, including strong interpersonal, communication, organization and consultation skills
Ability to work in a cross-functional environment
Strong discretion in dealing with highly confidential and sensitive information
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Develop relationships within the organization and demonstrate an ability to deliver on commitments and expectations
