Senior Mechanical Analysis Engineer

Responsibilities
Contribute to the successful development of Mechanical Analysis which may include: Finite element analysis (FEA), finite difference analysis, stress analysis, deflection analysis, thermal analysis, fatigue analysis, fracture analyses, magnetics analysis, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), transient flow analysis and general material characteristics
Validate conceptual problem solutions by performing trade studies and analyses
Advise mechanical tests and correlate analytical models to test results
Prepare customer delivered analysis reports and present at customer design reviews
Be a key contributor preparing successful proposal designs along with cost and schedule estimates
Be considered a technical leader, coaching and mentoring other engineers on teams
Provide input on project processes, strategies, and execution
Operate as a multidisciplinary member of a team of creative, independent individuals
Represent Moog in a manner consistent with its technical and professional reputation
Qualification
Required
Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering with 10+ years' relevant technical experience OR Master of Science Degree in Engineering with 8+ years' relevant technical experience
A PhD in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred
10 years of space related industry experience is highly preferred
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, finite element analysis, finite difference analysis, and general material characteristics
Significant experience in structural and/or thermal analysis on high performance mechanical products
Proficient in FEA and other CAE (computer-aided engineering) software such as ANSYS, Thermal Desktop, NASGRO
Familiarity with 3D solid modeling
Self-motivation, critical thinking, and strong analytical skills
Demonstrated strong technical written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work onsite in East Aurora, NY (remote candidates will not be considered)
Preferred
10 years of space related industry experience is highly preferred
A PhD in Mechanical Engineering is highly preferred
