SBA Business Development Officer (VP/SVP)

Responsibilities
Develop and cultivate new SBA lending opportunities, including both 7A and 504 loan programs
Build and network prospects utilizing both internal and external referral resources and follow up on marketing leads
Source and procure SBA loan products for portfolio growth
Gather applications, perform financial analysis of required cash flow, and present packages within credit policy requirements
Provide financial counsel to clients using proprietary tools
Establish and maintain relationships with internal Business Banking Relationship Managers to deepen and expand long-term client relationships
Optionally originate non-SBA, C&I commercial business, and CRE loans
Generate new SBA 7a and 504 program loans from small business clients in accordance with established goals
Prescreen loans for proper structure, conformity, and eligibility
Identify opportunities to solve client issues by analyzing loan requests appropriately
Maintain continual dialogue with officers, centers of influence, referral resources, etc
Assist the Business Banking team with cross-selling deposit, trade, cash management, asset management, and other banking services
Develop loan consideration memos for the credit department
Assist clients through the end-to-end loan process and follow up on documentation and account matters
Ensure compliance with all aspects of job-related laws and regulations, including completion of all required training
Participate in community and business functions/groups to provide a positive image within the marketplace
Establish referral contacts and attend local COI and SBA functions to enhance presence and cultivate relationships
Qualification
Required
2-25 years of proven success in SBA Lending/Sales
Strong knowledge of SBA products and policies
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Effective team player in a multi-tasking environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and open to learning technology tools
Ability to work independently and develop profitable client relationships
Strong financial analysis skills, including cash flow, balance sheet, ratios, collateral, and industry analysis
Strong sales experience required
SBA 7A and/or 504 experience required
Preferred
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience preferred
Prior relationship management experience
