Responsibilities
Conducting complex criminal and regulatory investigations
Actively patrolling Colorado casinos
Identifying and interviewing suspects and witnesses
Collecting and evaluating evidence
Performing comprehensive background and pre-licensing investigations
Collaborating with other investigators and law enforcement agencies
Providing training and outreach to stakeholders
Qualification
Required
Active & valid Colorado P.O.S.T. certification at time of application
This position is open only to Colorado state residents
Bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, criminology, criminal justice, criminalistics, political science, police science, law enforcement, law, psychology, sociology and two (2) years of relevant experience in conducting criminal investigations in a law enforcement agency
Six (6) years of relevant experience in conducting criminal investigations in a law enforcement agency
A combination of related education in business administration, public administration, criminology, criminal justice, criminalistics, political science, police science, law enforcement, law, psychology, sociology, formalized apprenticeship program, certification, and/or relevant experience in conducting criminal investigations in a law enforcement agency equal to six (6) years
Valid Colorado Driver's License (at the time of application)
Willingness to work nights, rotating shifts, weekends, holidays, and maintain on-call status while off-duty for emergency and supervisory response
Successfully pass a Physical/Psychological Evaluation prior to being appointed to a position in the Gaming Division
Qualify and maintain qualification with a firearm
Certify and maintain certification in arrest control techniques
Maintain a current/valid Colorado Peace Officer Standards & Training (POST) certification that is active in good standing, and free of any restrictions, suspensions, or revocations at the time of application
Preferred
Knowledge of Colorado rules and regulations related to Division of Gaming
Regulatory investigative experience
Outstanding candidates will have recent experience with: investigations interpreting and applying statutes and researching databases
Additional years of experience in professional investigative and/or compliance experience in a regulatory environment
Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Proven ability to work independently and accept supervision
Proven success organizing and tracking workload
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite
Proficiency in Google-Workspace
