Accreditation Coordinator - TEMPORARY (no benefits)
The City of Roanoke's Police Department is seeking an Accreditation Coordinator to assist the Accreditation Manager in facilitating the implementation of new and revised standards. The role involves reviewing department policies for compliance, writing directives, and maintaining records associated with accreditation.

Responsibilities
Reviews department policies and procedures for compliance with accreditation standards
Updates accreditation plan as necessary
Assists in writing directives to assure accreditation requirements
Identifies trends in CALEA (Commission of Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) standard development and alerts management to anticipated changes
Prepares reports on existing department operations, methods and procedures relating to accreditation standards
Develops and maintains department manuals as necessary
Collects the appropriate reports and proof to satisfy accreditation standards
Plans preliminary and on-site assessments; gives tours to assessors
Conducts policy research and surveys of other jurisdictions relating to accreditation
Maintains all records associated with accreditation
Trains department personnel on accreditation process
Participates in special projects
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university
Three to five years administrative experience and/or training
Equivalent combination of education and experience
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to prepare reports, correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and the general public
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
Ability to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
Ability to stand and walk
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
Ability to adjust focus
