Director, Employee and Labor Relations

Grossmont-Cuyamaca Community College District is seeking a qualified individual as a Director, Employee and Labor Relations. The role involves planning, organizing, coordinating, and directing employee and labor relations functions, including acting as chief negotiator and managing employee performance issues.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the districtwide employee and labor relations functions of the District including, but not limited to, act as chief negotiator of assigned bargaining units
Guidance/coordination of related management activities
Progressive discipline and corrective action
Employee job performance or behavior concerns, conduct investigations, complaints and grievances in accordance with best practices; and federal, state and local rules, regulations and codes
Perform other duties as assigned

Required

A Bachelor's degree in human resources, public administration, business administration or a related field
Five (5) years increasingly responsible experience relevant to the duties of position
Two (2) years of which must have been in a supervisory or lead capacity

Experience in an educational setting preferred
Master's degree preferred
