1+ years expFamily Tree Nursery is seeking a Home Decor Buyer to manage product selection and merchandising strategies. The Buyer will work closely with the buying team to curate products, maintain inventory levels, and ensure seasonal relevance in product displays.

Responsibilities
Work in varying weather conditions including hot, cold, wet, or dry environments
Perform physical tasks including standing, squatting, bending, lifting arms above head, and lifting items up to 50lbs. Team lifting is required for items over 50 lbs
Work on a variety of surfaces including but not limited to gravel, concrete, mud, or dirt
Be available to work weekends, evenings, early mornings and holidays
Stand and walk on your feet for multiple hours at a time with breaks as required by law
Operate effectively in a high paced setting involving various individuals and teams
Possess a strong technological acumen, with Microsoft products and point of sale system (POS)
Manage product and processes, including stocking levels, product placement, vendor relations, brand standards, inventory curation, team meetings, planning process, and internal and external communication
Hold team members accountable to essential processes, procedures, and core values
Look ahead with a creative vision, develop storyboards, conceptualize display and layout ideas, and carefully select, curate, and refine products within a category to align with and achieve shared company goals
Work five days a week, including at least one weekend day throughout the year
Work with Lead Buyer and buying team from other locations to plan product promotions, vision and merchandising strategies
Travel to trade shows, farms, greenhouses, field trials, or other buying events
Collaborate with Lead Buyer on product resets, provide product placement, and work alongside team members in implementing merchandising strategies
Coordinate with buying teams across locations to plan and execute effective merchandising strategies and promotions, aligning with seasonal and market trends and deadlines
Ensure proper inventory quantities and values with seasonal relevance
Manage inventory reallocation across locations, optimizing markdowns and maintaining efficient stock flow
Follow and implement proper receiving processes, including communication with receiving team and location leadership
Unload, pack, price and merchandise product
Respond promptly and professionally to phone calls and emails with buyers, vendors and customers
Maintain cleanliness as a point of attention throughout the store
May be requested to work six days a week for at least four months per year. This timeframe includes, but is not limited to, March, April, and May, as well as additional 'flex' months: September and/or November
Qualification
Required
1+ years of experience in retail merchandising or purchasing
Demonstrate professional and strong sales proficiency
Understand and execute processes efficiently in department as directed
Possess knowledge of inventory life-cycle
