The National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) is seeking a passionate News Producer to join their Washington, DC News Bureau. In this part-time role, the producer will be responsible for planning daily coverage and managing logistics to deliver significant national political stories to various newsrooms and digital platforms.

Responsibilities
Washington News Bureau producers are responsible for planning daily coverage, communicating plans to stations and producers, booking and coordinating the technical aspects of multiple daily live shots, producing elements for reporters, writing and copy-editing content, seeking and incorporating enterprise content elements from our data team and other national teams, and managing custom requested content for stations
Qualification
Required
Experience in a local TV newsroom, DC bureau, or a strong college news operation
Strong passion for journalism
Understanding of how local newsrooms operate each day
Knowledge of the basics of newscast production
Ability to quickly respond to breaking news
Effective communication of updates and content concerns
Fast decision-making skills
Ability to work consistently with reporters and photographers
Organization skills
Reliability
Ability to manage the stress and expectations of a working newsroom
Preferred
Experience with political reporting or coverage
