Responsibilities
Supports center staff to integrate family partnership/engagement goals with classroom efforts and to ensure integrated child and family curriculum
Trains new and temporary Family Service Associate staff and is available to assist them in the field as needed
Must ensure that all ERSEA procedures including Enrollment, Recruitment, Selection, Eligibility, Attendance and re-enrollment related to Head Start performance standards are correctly implemented
Promotes effective community support for families by coordination and advocacy for services with community agencies
Conducts home visits to facilitate family plans, assists families in achieving identified goals, follow-up on referrals and address attendance concerns. Acts as a case manager and works cooperatively with local agencies to assist families to linkup with services in the local community
Qualification
Required
BA/ BS degree or AA/ AS degree in social work, human services, liberal studies with related field experience required
Expert in Microsoft Office computer skills required
Experience working or volunteering in social or community services required
Experience in planning and conducting workshops and training programs
Experience working in a multi-cultural and multi-ethnic setting
Must possess a valid California driver's license, have use of a motor vehicle and provide evidence of automobile liability insurance
Must meet State health requirements including passing a physical examination as a condition of employment and must provide verification of a TB clearance at the time of employment
Mandatory CPR and Basic First Aid certificate, which employee is responsible to maintain for the duration of their employment with Head Start
Preferred
Bilingual in English/Spanish is preferred but not required
Experience in community outreach, community health or family-focused intervention
Experience with case management is desirable
