Third Shift Quality Technician

Responsibilities
To set an example, by always demonstrating safety
Encourage all employees and contractors to adhere to the safety-first motto
Identify high-risk safety/ productivity issues and help remedy them
Adhere to GMPs and work procedures to assure superior product quality and consistency to our customers
Conduct safety inspections periodically
Perform quality audits (Including, but not limited to, Flake thickness, size, oil temperature, roller parameters, packaging specifications, palletizer, and liner tests, etc.) on all products and input data in a timely manner
Document all equipment/clothing, labeling gloves with initials, and ensuring metal detectable pens are used
Sampling of products for Retain, Additive, and Pre-Pack purposes
Adding additional ingredients to products based on finished product specifications
Understanding of 5S
Understand and implement/enforce Company HACCP and Food Safety practices
Understand and enforce Allergen and other FMC control
Conduct Metal Detector checks
Conduct Product Specification and Equipment checks
Generate CoA’s for completed product and ensure all CoA’s are updated daily by entering data into ITS
Understand and utilize the company Hold Log to aid in isolation and control of nonconforming product utilizing VAI
Assist management and supervisory personnel in the enforcement of GMP’s and PPE
Maintain Daily Shift Reports
Inspect and document wash-downs of equipment for start-ups, shutdowns, and any necessary maintenance activity
Cross train in Laboratory roles and responsibilities
Be flexible enough to participate in audits (ISO 9001, BRC, customer audits) if necessary
Train new employees in all aspects of the job
Assist production in troubleshooting quality issues
Other duties as assigned by management
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED with experience in manufacturing quality
Ability to communicate well with others
Computer skills
Math and computation ability
Preferred
Bachelor's degree in chemistry or biology or related field
