Responsibilities
Manage construction-related disputes from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, and motion practice
Draft and review construction contracts and related documents such as subcontracts, change orders, and claims correspondence
Handle matters involving public bidding, procurement, delay and extra work claims, mechanicโs liens, and bond claims
Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda, briefs, and dispositive motions
Participate in mediations, arbitrations, administrative proceedings, and court appearances with increasing autonomy
Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, experts, and project stakeholders
Advise clients on dispute avoidance, risk assessment, and claim prevention strategies
Contribute to business and professional development within the construction community
Qualification
Required
Three to six years of substantive litigation experience in Construction Law required
Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
Admission in good standing to the Massachusetts bar
Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills, supported by a writing sample
Ability to manage cases or significant components with appropriate supervision
Professional judgment, attention to detail, and reliability
Collaborative mindset suited to a small, collegial firm
Genuine interest in a long-term career in construction law and partnership
