Responsibilities
Draft, review, and negotiate a variety of contracts, including:
Purchase and Sale Agreements
Tax Equity and Debt Financing Agreements
Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs)
Engineering, Procurement & Construction (EPC) agreements
Operation & Maintenance (O&M) agreements
Equipment supply contracts
Development services agreements
Provide legal support for project development and M&A transactions, including due diligence and transaction document negotiation and active management of outside counsel
Support project finance transactions, including coordination with lenders, tax equity providers, and outside counsel
Collaborate closely with business teams including development, asset management, engineering, and finance to ensure alignment on legal and commercial risks
Assist in the development of standard contract templates and playbooks
Monitor industry trends, legal developments, and regulatory updates relevant to renewable energy
Support dispute resolution and claims management as needed
Qualification
Required
At least 6-10+ years of relevant legal experience
Strong renewable energy industry knowledge
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment

Preferred
J.D. from an accredited law school; licensed and in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
Minimum 6 years of legal experience, with a focus on renewable energy projects, either in-house or at a law firm
Experience negotiating and managing contracts in renewable energy sector
Familiarity with key industry frameworks and tax equity/finance structures
Strong understanding of risk allocation and project lifecycle in renewable energy development
Ability to manage complex negotiations and balance legal risk with business objectives
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with minimal supervision
Collaborative and proactive mindset with strong business acumen
In-house legal experience at a renewable energy developer, IPP, or utility preferred
