Director of Employee Benefits Account Management
Supersure is building a benefits agency that combines deep subject matter expertise with disciplined operations and scalable service models. The Director of Account Management – Employee Benefits will be responsible for leading Supersure’s benefits service organization during its early growth phase, overseeing benefits delivery and operations.
Responsibilities
Build, lead, and scale Supersure’s Employee Benefits Account Management and Benefits Administration teams
Design and implement early stage service workflows covering onboarding, renewals, open enrollment, ongoing administration, and employee support
Identify, prioritize, and champion technology and AI‑driven opportunities to reduce manual work, strengthen accuracy, and enhance the client experience
Lead the adoption of new tools and processes, inspiring teams through ambiguity and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement
Serve as an operational leader and subject matter authority across employee benefits, including plan structures, ACA requirements, and vendor coordination
Work closely with TPAs, carriers, COBRA administrators, and technology platforms to ensure compliant, consistent execution
Guide teams through open enrollment and complex client scenarios, remaining hands-on during early growth phases
Own service metrics, team performance, and scalability
Integrate value-added services into the benefits offering, including COBRA administration, billing reconciliation, compliance support, and employee education
Partner with Finance to ensure benefits commissions are understood, tracked, and reported accurately within the existing structure
Over time, refine service models, metrics, and team capacity to support scale without degrading client experience
Qualification
Required
7+ years of experience in employee benefits account management, benefits administration, or service operations within an agency, brokerage, or TPA environment
Demonstrated experience building or materially improving benefits operations in a growing or changing organization
Deep operational knowledge of employee benefits, including ACA compliance, open enrollment execution, ongoing administration, and employee support
Working experience with TPAs, COBRA administration, benefits platforms, and carrier relationships
Practical understanding of Rx plan placement considerations and benefits plan design tradeoffs
Proven people leadership experience, including managing Account Managers and Benefits Administrators
Ability to operate in a build phase, creating structure and clarity where processes are still forming
Familiarity with benefits commission tracking and reporting and how benefits revenue flows through an agency
Experience with end‑to‑end agency workflows and a continuous improvement mindset, consistently identifying opportunities to reduce friction and elevate the client experience
Highly proficient with Microsoft Office tools such as PowerPoint, Excel, and Word, consistently leveraging them to analyze data, and communicate insights effectively
Active Life & Health insurance license, or ability to obtain quickly
Must be based in Miami, FL area and able to work in-office in downtown Miami (Wells Fargo tower)
Preferred
Experience launching or scaling an employee benefits service organization
Background that includes large brokerage experience paired with high personal ownership and operational grit
Passion exploring and implementing AI technologies to automate routine tasks, improve decision‑making accuracy, and elevate the quality of client guidance
Experience integrating value added services into benefits service models
Industry designations such as CEBS
