Responsibilities
Perform advanced diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on fuel dispensers, USTs, leak detection systems, and vapor recovery units
Lead or assist in the installation and upgrade of fueling systems and associated technology
Serve as a subject matter expert and mentor to junior technicians
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding fueling systems and hazardous materials
Maintain accurate records of repairs, inspections, and compliance testing
Coordinate with external vendors and regulatory agencies during site visits and audits
Respond to emergency service calls and troubleshoot system issues in a timely manner
Monitor fuel system performance and recommend proactive upgrades or replacements
Provide support during site construction, tank testing, and permitting processes
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED required
Minimum 5+ years of experience working with fuel systems in a retail, convenience store, or commercial fueling environment
In-depth knowledge of petroleum systems, including USTs, dispensers, sensors, and alarms
Valid driver's license and clean driving record
Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently and travel between locations as needed
Preferred
technical certification or vocational training
familiarity with Veeder-Root, Gilbarco, and Wayne systems
OSHA and HAZMAT certification
