Desktop Support Technician

Responsibilities

Provide hardware support for desktops, laptops, monitors, printers, and peripherals
Diagnose, repair, replace, and maintain hardware components
Perform upgrades, component swaps, and routine maintenance to ensure reliable device performance
Image computers using standardized tools and procedures
Configure operating systems, install required applications, and apply updates and patches
Prepare devices for new hires, refresh cycles, and departmental technology needs
Set up workstations including monitors, docking stations, keyboards, phones, and other peripherals
Ensure proper network connectivity, access to printers, and application functionality
Assist with technology setup in conference rooms, labs, and shared work areas
Perform installation, configuration, diagnostics, and troubleshooting for Windows systems
Resolve issues involving operating systems, applications, wireless devices, and networking equipment
Document all details in the ticketing system and escalate issues when appropriate with accurate notes

Required

Minimum of 2 years of hands-on hardware support experience
Minimum of 2 years of experience imaging computers
Minimum of 2 years of workstation setup experience
Strong understanding of Windows desktop environments (Windows 10/11)
General troubleshooting abilities across hardware, software, and basic networking
Ability to create clear documentation for issue escalation and knowledge sharing

Preferred

Experience supporting Windows Server environments
Familiarity with IT ticketing systems such as ServiceNow, Freshservice, or Jira
Experience with remote support tools
Strong customer service and communication skills
