Information Systems Analyst III (SR-20)
County of Maui is seeking an Information Systems Analyst III to perform technical analysis, evaluation, and development of information technology systems. The role involves conducting studies of work processes, developing plans for automation, and making recommendations on methods and procedures related to assigned projects.

Responsibilities
Conducts studies of work processes, procedures, and operations relating to the conversion of data to information technology systems
Performs various fact finding tasks and develops preliminary evaluations and recommendations
Develops plans and procedures for implementing automation
Analyzes, evaluates and makes recommendations on methods and procedures relating to assigned projects
May be assigned to develop computer programs as a secondary assignment
Qualification
Required
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree
One and one-half years (1 1/2) of progressively responsible work experience in computer systems analysis which involved the conduct of feasibility studies and the analysis and design of information technology systems
Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator's license (Type 3)
Knowledge of analytical methods and techniques
Knowledge of principles of report writing
Knowledge of basic governmental functions and organizations
Knowledge of fundamentals of information systems analysis and computer programming
Knowledge of electronic computers, data storage media/devices and other peripheral equipment, their capabilities and general processes
Knowledge of data sources and flow, interactions of complex systems, and capabilities and limitation of systems software and computer equipment
Ability to gather, analyze, correlate, and evaluate facts and make sound judgments
Ability to apply analytical reasoning
Ability to read and comprehend machine manuals and other written materials
Ability to speak and write effectively
Ability to prepare clear and concise reports
Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others
Ability to understand the legal and procedural requirements and the functions and organization the programs under study
Ability to recommend procedures for conversion to electronic data processing
Ability to learn the principles and practices of public administration and research methods and procedures
Meet the health and physical condition standards deemed necessary and proper for performance of the duties
