Responsibilities

Provide project management and technical oversight for wetland delineations, stream ordinary high-water mark determinations, and wildlife surveys
Support field surveys and technical assessments for wetlands, streams, wildlife, and threatened or endangered species
Prepare permit applications and regulatory documentation for Clean Water Act Section 404, Endangered Species Act Section 7, and state/local natural resource and critical areas regulations
Perform QA/QC on data collection, field surveys, critical area reports, biological assessments, and permit applications
Manage project scopes, schedules, budgets, and coordination of project teams
Support business development efforts by identifying new clients and project opportunities
Contribute to project pursuits by responding to RFPs and RFQs and participating in interviews
Supervise and mentor junior staff
Travel as needed for fieldwork and project assignments throughout the western U.S

Required

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related field
Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) certification
15+ years of experience conducting wetland and biological fieldwork in the Pacific Northwest
Strong understanding of Pacific Northwest flora, fauna, soils, hydrology, and aquatic ecosystems
Solid knowledge of Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and Washington state/local environmental regulations
Excellent technical writing, data analysis, interpersonal communication, and client-service skills
Ability to travel to project sites, work independently, and complete fieldwork that may include heavy manual labor
Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate fieldwork and deliverables
Must be capable of physically demanding fieldwork in varying conditions

Preferred

WSDOT Biological Assessment Author certification
Proficiency with GPS, ARC/GIS, and spatial data management to support field mapping and reporting
Completion of wetland certificate training from University of Washington, Portland State University, or equivalent
