Responsibilities

Inspect, maintain, and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and building systems
Perform basic plumbing, electrical repairs and upgrades, and HVAC maintenance
Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical switches, lighting systems, and HVAC rooftop units
Unclog drains and address general facility maintenance issues
Build partitions and perform plaster, drywall, roofing, painting, and structural repairs on windows, doors, floors, and other building components
Maintain and repair equipment used in cafeterias, laboratories, offices, and factory areas
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure equipment and building systems operate efficiently
Follow checklists and standard work procedures to inspect drives, motors, belts, fluid levels, filters, and related systems
Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside contractors performing repairs or upgrades
Obtain supplies and repair parts from storerooms or distributors
Use hand and power tools (screwdrivers, saws, drills, wrenches, hammers) and electronic testing equipment to diagnose and repair issues
Maintain accurate records of maintenance work, inspections, and repairs
Use computers to send and receive emails, manage work orders, enter timesheets, and operate computer-controlled HVAC systems (training provided as needed)

Required

Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with good manual dexterity
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, service manuals, and written instructions
Solid problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Good judgment and decision-making skills, especially during unexpected facility-related issues
Basic computer proficiency for work order systems, email, and documentation
Commitment to workplace safety, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and participation in required safety training
