Responsibilities

Documentation: Approved plans, site-specific job card, and structural, electrical, or PV calculations. Accessibility: All electrical components, including grounding and inverters, must be exposed and accessible
Safety: A safe, secure ladder must be in place, complying with ladder safety standards (e.g., 3 feet above roof edge)
Verification: Inspection of panel model/tag, racking, wiring (proper size/type), and labeling for code compliance
System Operation: Testing or inspection of system functionality

Required

5 years' experience as a Product Quality Inspector in Solar Array Installation
Certifications in NABCEP Solar Inspector certification or similar credentials
Deep understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC), IEEE standards, and structural requirements
Field Experience: Previous work in electrical construction, solar PV installation, or as a building inspector
Ability to identify structural issues, improper grounding, junction box, and raceway failures, or faulty rapid shutdown systems
Reviewing site plans, and confirming compliance with manufacturer specifications and AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) requirements

Preferred

Certifications in solar technology or electrical inspection (e.g., IAEI) are highly preferred to enhance credibility
