FWS - Assistant - Student - Social Media Influencer

Georgia Highlands College is a multi-campus institution that serves over 6,000 students. The Federal Work-Study Social Media Influencer will create engaging content to promote the college, enhance student retention, and manage social media platforms.

Responsibilities

Is responsible to understand, support, and carry out the college's mission, vision, and values and comply with mandates and regulations of government and accrediting bodies
Capture photos and videos at events, on-campus activities, and other college-related happenings
Create reels, YouTube Shorts, and other short-form video content highlighting GHC's student experience
Develop creative content strategies aligned with GHC branding guidelines
Collaborate with the Marketing and Communication team to schedule and post content on GHC's official social media platforms
Serve as an ambassador for GHC, showcasing the college's culture, diversity, and academic opportunities
Ensure all content represents the values and mission of GHC
Track engagement metrics to identify successful content strategies
Provide feedback to the Marketing team on student trends and preferences
Partner with students, faculty, and staff to identify key stories and events to highlight
Attend GHC events to document and promote activities
Performs other duties as assigned

Required

High school diploma or equivalent and current GHC undergraduate student
Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) currently being met
Current-Year FAFSA on file with all verifications and any other requirements complete
Currently enrolled for at least six (6) credit hours (in most instances)
Must be eligible for Federal Work-Study
Enthusiastic about social media trends, content creation, and digital marketing
Strong skills in photography, videography, and video editing (experience with apps like Canva, Adobe Spark, or CapCut is a plus)
Familiarity with major social media platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and stay organized
Must be willing to travel between campuses as needed (transportation provided or reimbursed when applicable)

Preferred

Some prior experience is preferred but not required. Job specific training will be provided
