Responsibilities
Respond to all safety concerns and security incidents at facilities owned or occupied by Seattle Children's
Utilize appropriate protocols, emergency response procedures, and/or non-violent crisis intervention methods
Deter, detect, prevent, respond, and document concerns or incidents that risk the safety and well-being of patients, families, visitors, workforce members, and property
Respond to situations including fire emergencies, hazardous spills, disaster response, medical emergencies, safety support, missing child, active shooter, bomb threats, and unauthorized persons on property
Qualification
Required
Associate degree in Criminal Justice or related field or a combination of 3 years' experience in Security Services or related field
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement)
Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire
Completion of Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire
Completion of Car Seat Safety Training within 12 months of hire if required for position/role
Score of 80% or above on Seattle Children's Security Competency Exam in assigned area of the Security Department (Service Call, Emergency Department, Entrance, Surge, and Research) within 12 months
High School Diploma
2 years of experience in Customer Service or Security Services or customer service
Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification within 90 days of hire
CPI Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NCI) Certification within 90 days of hire (Annual Requirement)
Completion of NCI Autism Training within 12 months of hire
Completion of Seattle Children's Safe Firearms Training within 12 months of hire
Preferred
Valid Washington State Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management
Completion of Wheelchair vehicle Training
International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS) Basic Certification
Safety Cares Certification within 90 days of hire if required for location (Preferred)
Valid Washington State Driver's License with a driving record acceptable to Risk Management
