Responsibilities

Perform and document comprehensive patient respiratory assessments, including breath sounds, airway patency, and cuff pressure

Conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for and response to respiratory therapy

Administer respiratory care therapies, including oxygen delivery, aerosolized medications, and chest physiotherapy

Assist with placement and management of artificial airways

Initiate, monitor, and maintain invasive and noninvasive mechanical ventilation

Monitor patients for therapeutic response and intervene appropriately for adverse or unintended reactions

Assist with transport of ventilator-dependent patients

Respond to emergent patient situations and support airway management and ventilation during resuscitation

Maintain accurate, timely documentation in accordance with departmental and regulatory standards

Required

Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential through NBRC

Active state respiratory therapy license

Completion of a two-year AMA-approved Respiratory Care program (Associate Degree or equivalent)

New graduates will be considered if they have recently passed boards or are awaiting official licensure

+ CRT-only experience does not qualify

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

+ Must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date if not current

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required within 6 months of start date

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required within 6 months of start date

Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required within 6 months of start date

Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
