Responsibilities

Perform duties of a professional and supervisory nature requiring skills, knowledge and abilities acquired prior to assuming the duties of the position
Application of accounting principles and practices onto computerized municipal accounting system to maintain accurate records of municipal accounts
Monitor expenditures and prepare periodic financial statements and administrative reports
Information exchange with other City employees, outside agencies and citizens to discuss the legality of expenditures, explain governmental regulations and to provide or obtain information related to budgetary considerations, financial reports, etc
Provide technical assistance or training to clerical and professional personnel through verbal explanation and physical demonstration of work performed
Assignments are both general and specific in nature and are received primarily in verbal form
Work is reviewed by a supervisor for overall standards of performance and is subject to periodic audits
