Inventory Control Manager
Albertsons Market is a leading grocery retailer, and they are seeking an Inventory Control Manager to oversee the receiving and inventory processes. The role involves managing deliveries, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

Responsibilities
Maintains an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with an emphasis on fast, friendly service
Receives all DSD (Direct Store Delivery) deliveries and logs all deliveries—including non‑Albertsons/Tom Thumb distribution deliveries—into the computer system
Breaks down loads from DSD suppliers; may transport product from receiving area into freezer or cooler
Ensures cost, quality, and inventory control by verifying orders against invoices, auditing case contents, and using the electronic receiving system to verify cost
Maintains invoices and reports in the established filing system per record retention guidelines
Reviews and accepts only proper and correct orders submitted by outside sales representatives
Prevents shrink, damage, and spoilage. Repairs and prices damaged product if saleable; discards or returns damaged product to vendors as required
Responsible for security, sanitation, and organization of receiving, storage, and loading dock areas
Performs training duties. Operates equipment such as manual/electric pallet jacks, power lifts, balers, compactors, safety cutters, scissors, pricing guns, telephones, handheld units, and printers
May assist with ordering, stocking, stacking, facing/conditioning, pricing, marking, and rotating dairy and frozen items in the absence of department clerks
Inspects backroom equipment (e.g., pallet jacks, balers) and reports malfunctions to the Store Director
Follows and maintains department standards and requirements
Trains employees in store policies, sales procedures, and record‑keeping practices
Identifies and develops employees with potential for advancement
Maintains working knowledge of company policies and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook
Ensures proper code dating for all products within the department
Controls shrink and cost
Complies with all workplace safety rules and regulations
Ensures safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of work areas and equipment
Implements emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions
Complies with company grooming standards and dress code
Performs all duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity
Performs other necessary and required duties
Qualification
Required
Receives deliveries of store products from all DSD/individual vendors and verifies invoice accuracy
Ensures credits for damages and shortages
Primarily responsible for operating receiving systems according to Company and Division policies
Maintains strong rapport with vendors

Knowledge of basic math, weights, and measures
Knowledge of product variety, standards, perishability, handling, sanitation, labeling, and department procedures
Operates telephones, pallet jacks, hand trucks, power lifts, balers, scissors, and safety cutters
Uses cleaning supplies and equipment
May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays; schedule varies
Good attendance required
Exposure to potential hazards associated with equipment and work aids
Works in a temperature‑controlled environment
Frequent exposure to refrigerated conditions around 35°; may be exposed to -20° while handling freezer products
