Chief Compliance Officer

Responsibilities
Ensure that all employees comply with the rules and regulations of regulatory agencies, that the corporation policies and procedures are followed, and that the behavior of the organization and its employees meet the standards of the HarmonyCares Code of Conduct
Design, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program
Manage HarmonyCares’ Fraud, Waste, and Abuse program
Function as an independent and objective body to review and evaluate compliance or issues of concern within the organization
Establish policies and procedures to prevent, detect, and respond to compliance risks
Monitor changes in laws and regulations affecting the organization
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and industry-specific requirements
Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
Oversee internal audits and investigations related to compliance issues and provide appropriate interventions when warranted and develop, implement and/or oversee corrective action plans
Coordinate internal monitoring and auditing to ensure compliance with billing and coding regulations, identified investigatory targets or other areas of concern including, but not limited to, any applicable concerns related to the Conditions of Participation and Payment
Ensure that Cumulative Sanction Report and other appropriate sources are utilized in screening employees and vendors
Develop and deliver compliance training for employees and leadership
Review and revise the Code of Conduct as needed
Prepare compliance reports for senior leadership
Serve as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies
Manage the Compliance Hotline process
Development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, policies and procedures that promote civil rights and accessibility in patient care
Receipt, review, investigation, confidential management, and archival of patient, companion and regulatory grievances alleging noncompliance with Section 1557, which prohibits discrimination against patients based on race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability in certain health programs and activities (refer to 45 CFR §92.7)
In partnership with Clinical Operations, review and ensure language access, effective communication and reasonable modification procedures, training of relevant staff members
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in legal studies, finance, business management, or a related field
10+ years of compliance, legal, or regulatory experience
4+ years of leadership in compliance within healthcare
Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks and risk management
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Ability to influence and lead across all levels of the organization
Experience interacting with regulatory bodies and managing audits
Demonstrated ability to build and sustain a strong compliance culture
Preferred
Juris Doctor (JD) or advanced degree in law, business, or related field
Certification in compliance (e.g., CCEP, CHC, CRCM)
