The Accountant will be responsible for preparing journal entries, performing account reconciliations, supporting financial reporting, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Responsibilities
Prepare and post journal entries; analyze balance sheet and income statement variances; investigate and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner
Perform general ledger account reconciliations in BlackLine according to risk‑based frequency and certification standards; maintain complete and accurate supporting documentation; execute preparer and approver workflows
Support financial reporting activities, including the preparation of internal and external reports, variance analysis, and ensuring compliance with GAAP and FHFA requirements
Assist with internal and external audit requests by preparing schedules, reconciling data, and maintaining control documentation
Ensure ongoing compliance with Bank policies and procedures, including the Account Reconciliation Policy, Code of Ethics, and segregation of duties requirements
Support month‑end close by preparing reconciling schedules, validating account balances, ensuring timely completion of reconciliations, and collaborating with Internal Reporting and ERP teams to maintain accuracy and compliance
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process enhancements, automation, and documentation updates

GAAP accounting
Audit support and compliance
Preferred
Strong Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and INDEX/MATCH; basic SQL knowledge a plus
Comfortable working within standardized workflows and control environments
Ability to follow documented procedures while identifying opportunities for improvement
