Senior Premium Analyst II
Emergent Holdings is seeking a Senior Premium Analyst II who will lead cross-functional initiatives and serve as a key advisor within the Premium Audit Analyst team. This role provides strategic direction on audit process improvements and oversees daily operations while mentoring team members to align with departmental goals.

Responsibilities
Independently complete the most complex and high-impact audits, including those involving multiple jurisdictions, large premium volumes, and significant disputes
Lead resolution efforts for escalated audit variances, coordinating with vendors, policyholders, and agents as needed
Conduct exit interviews for Vendor audits, including variance notifications
Analyze Policyholder and Agent requests, research multiple state manuals and laws to advise and/or coordinate the appropriate resolution of disputes
Facilitates, researches, and resolves complex internal and external customer inquiries through verbal or written communication
Exercise delegated authority to make audit or classification exception approvals exceeding standard thresholds
Serve as formal mentor and technical coach to Premium Analysts and support staff, develop and monitor onboarding plans, provide structured feedback
Assists employees in the unit with technical questions
Reviews work of employees within the unit to assist with coaching/mentoring
Identify, coordinate, and communicate potential workflow and procedure changes with Quality and Workflow Team
Orients new employees to the departmental and unit procedures
Assist in establishment and monitoring of goals and objectives for the unit
Audit and review work of employees within the unit
Assists with the conducting of interviews and selection of employees
Identify, coordinate, and communicate potential workflow and procedure changes with Quality and Workflow Team
Collaborates with other roles/departments for items that require special handling and/or additional research
Reviews policy level decisions based on research and analysis and provides guidance where needed. Serve as a Subject Matter Expert regarding projects/issues
Contribute to and support initiatives that align with departmental KPIs, audit accuracy goals, customer experience enhancements, and vendor optimization strategies
Participates in on-the-job training of employees new to the role
Collaborates with Quality and Workflow Team in maintaining department procedures, work instructions, and job aides; may participate in initiating new workflows or workflow changes
Works with internal departments to resolve problems and maintain company relations. Make appropriate decisions based on interpretation of policies and procedures
Manage individual workflow inventory within the audit systems to achieve specific time service goals
Understands the direction of the overall industry and evaluates the related impact
Evaluate and decide in a timely manner which audits require further review and coordinate resolution with internal departments and leadership when needed
Backup for ACD calls in the respective unit
Perform other duties or special projects assigned
Qualification
Required
Associate's degree in business, insurance or related field with progress toward or completion of Insurance Institute of America (IIA) or other insurance related designation(s). Combinations of education and experience may be considered in lieu of formal education
Three (3) years as a Premium Analyst including two (2) year as a Senior Premium Analyst, with demonstrated technical decision making and audit processing skills and demonstrated experience with manual rules across multiple states and regulatory authorities. OR Five years technical or administrative office experience including relevant audit or payroll duties in an insurance organization or four years demonstrated experience of the necessary skills, knowledge, and abilities for the position, may be considered
Bachelor's degree in business, insurance or related field with progress toward or completion of Insurance Institute of America (IIA) or other insurance related designation(s)
Three years AFGroup experience working with underwriting and/or bureau rules, procedures, policy information, and research of business elements pertinent to premium audit; reviewing and approving vendor audits or customer service experience resolving audit disputes and premium audit transaction activities for agents and policy holders
One year as a Senior Premium Analyst, with demonstrated technical decision making and audit processing skills and demonstrated experience with manual rules across multiple states and regulatory authorities or three years of the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities for the position, may be considered
Demonstrated ability to lead without formal authority and contribute to performance and development of others
Expert-level understanding of vendor audit formats and processes, which facilitate making decisions in a timely manner regarding which audits will require further review
Strong command of classification systems and regulatory requirements across both core and non-core states
Ability to synthesize complex audit findings and translate them into enterprise recommendations
Ability to objectively review the work of others to ensure quality output
Demonstrated knowledge of team workflow and ability to re-prioritize work as needed for self and others
Ability to work effectively in a multi-functional and multi state business unit
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills and ability to interpret and explain audit verbiage and language
Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize work
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet established deadlines
Proficiency in MS Office, audit systems (e.g., PAM, Sure Premium Audit), OnBase, and classification resources (PAAS, NCCI)
Excellent organizational and prioritization skills; comfortable managing multiple initiatives simultaneously
Knowledge of multi-line telephone system
Ability to process transactions on core processing systems
Ability to proofread documents for accuracy of spelling, grammar, punctuation, and format
Basic math skills
Ability to recognize and negotiate solutions for unique requests
Knowledge of state specific underwriting and audit rules & concepts; workers compensation classifications and procedures; and application of manual rules across all core and non-core states and regulatory authorities
Ability to think proactively and independently with a long-term perspective in addressing customer's needs
Demonstrated technical knowledge of policy exposures, implications of changes, and identifying unique situations
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proficient knowledge of various payroll reports, payroll tax returns, tax forms and supporting documentation
Ability to think proactively and independently with a long-term perspective in addressing clients'/customers' needs
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Preferred
Prefer completion of the Certified Authority on Workers Compensation CAWC program
Progress towards or completion of Insurance Institute of America (IIA) or other insurance-related designation(s) such as an Associate in Premium Audit (APA) or Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU)
Thorough knowledge of state specific audit rules and Workers' Compensation classifications in multiple states
Successful completion of business writing course
