The role involves preparing and reviewing financial statements, conducting month-end close reconciliations, and collaborating with property managers to ensure accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for assigned properties

Month-end close balance sheet reconciliations including Bank, AR, Construction in Progress & Fixed Assets

Journal entries including accruals & prepayments

Reconciliation of revenue accounts

Preparation of supporting work papers

Variance analysis including flux analysis and budget-to-actual review

Collaboration with property managers

Review all AR transactions and AP invoices

Review lease agreements and ensure accurate and timely recording of rental income

Review and reconcile all loan payments

Prepare and submit required financial reports to senior management and external stakeholders

Assist with year-end audit preparations and provide necessary documentation and support to auditors

Required

Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field

4-6 years of progressive General Ledger experience

Experience compiling accrual based financial statements

Solid knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP)

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines

Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams

Preferred

Real estate industry experience a plus but not essential

Systems savvy with strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP)

Yardi or MRI experience a plus but not essential
