EHS Intern

Advanced Energy is a global leader in precision power conversion and control solutions. The EHS Intern will assist in executing and facilitating the company's environmental health and safety program, focusing on eliminating injuries and ensuring compliance with safety regulations.

Responsibilities

Assist in planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining of occupational health, safety, and environmental programs
Ensure that Advanced Energy complies with applicable federal, state and local laws, regulations, and standards through implementation of safety control measures
Perform hazard assessments including job hazard assessments and audits with business leaders and prepare comprehensive recommendations for corrective action to eliminate or minimize potential hazards
Assist business partners with reporting incidents and near misses
Lead incident investigations and recommend corrective actions
Steward and facilitate emergency action plans
Utilize EHS data management system (Velocity EHS) for collecting incident, hazard, inspection, chemical SDS and sustainability data
Support procedure writing for Corporate EHS management system (ISO14001 and ISO45001)

Required

Knowledge/proficiency in safety culture development

Ability to locate, interpret, and implement regulatory requirements
Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of applications and other common computer tools
0 - 1 years' experience in related fields such as industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, safety, environmental compliance, and hazardous waste management
Graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Chemical engineering, physical sciences or other engineering or current student enrolled in one of the above degree seeking programs

Preferred

Experience in manufacturing or R&D engineering labs desired
