The Yoon Lab is seeking a Research Technician at the II, III or IV level to assist in research on genetic and neurological diseases, utilizing clinical data and patient-derived stem cell models.
Research
Responsibilities
Conduct experiments and assist in research on the discovery of new genetic/neurological diseases and their pathogenic mechanisms
Implement experimental pipeline leveraging clinical data, genomics analysis, and studies using patient-derived stem cell models
Organize and perform precise and accurate work when dealing with samples and chemicals
Write routine reports and correspondence
Comply with instructions, protocols, and procedures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in one of the biological sciences or relevant field and two (2) years of relevant laboratory experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Must be detail-oriented, organized, able to meet deadlines, and work independently as well as a team player
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence and protocols/procedures
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
Ability to compute basic mathematical operations, i.e., rate, ratio, percent, molarity, and unit conversion
Ability to organize and perform precise and accurate work when dealing with samples and chemicals
Strong computer proficiency
Professionalism while interacting with a diverse group of people, personalities, and cultures
Preferred
Candidates with strong expertise in neuronal cell and iPSC culture are greatly encouraged to apply
Human iPSC or ESC biology
Neuronal cell culture
Cell biology (immunocytochemistry, confocal microscopy, cell cycle)
Molecular biology (RNA work, qRT-PCR, Western blot)
