GIS Analyst 3 - Geothermal GIS Analyst (PCN 10-2260)
NEOGOV is seeking a GIS Analyst 3 for the Department of Natural Resources, Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys in Alaska. The successful candidate will collaborate with geologists to collect and analyze geothermal data, perform geospatial data analysis, and develop web applications to characterize Alaska's geothermal energy resources.

Lead efforts to organize and catalogue data in appropriate databases
Perform geospatial data analysis and processing
Develop web applications and tools
Assess remote sensing data to help characterize geothermal energy resource potential
Qualification
Required

Equivalent to those typically gained by: Any combination of preparatory post-secondary education and/or progressively responsible experience in geographic information systems (GIS) operations, data collection, cartography, computer science, geography, or related field

This position will require travel within the state (typically 3 - 5 trips of 10 days or less per year)
Ability to hike over rough terrain with a heavy backpack (up to 50 lbs.). Traveling by helicopter, small fixed-wing aircraft, boat, and snowmachine
This position requires possession of, or access to, firearms or ammunition in support of remote field investigations and associated travel
