Responsibilities
Oversee the execution of product compliance classifications including Commodity, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, and Country of Origin within D365
Manage the Compliance Requests Planner, developing and implementing strategies to reduce the average response time to customer inquiries
Collaborate with the Supplier Quality Engineer to monitor vendor responses to compliance requests and identify opportunities to provide additional guidance or support to ensure timely and accurate submissions
Drive the integration of compliance requirements into the product development process, including creation and maintenance of necessary forms and documentation
Provide expert guidance and interpretation to ensure product compliance throughout the entire product lifecycle
Collaborate on the development and maintenance of an educational presentation explaining product compliance requirements for the Thorlabs community e.g., Global Compliance Page on SharePoint
Stay current with changes to international regulatory and agency requirements, and recommend proactive actions to maintain compliance of active products
Partner with the Enterprise Data Management team to develop more automated reporting tools and dashboards to display key performance indicators
Prepare and present executive summaries and performance dashboards during compliance report-outs
Manage the Product Compliance Team, including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and professional development
Meeting company standards pertaining to quantity and quality of work performed on an ongoing basis, performing all work-related tasks in a manner that is in compliance with all Company policies and procedures
Adhering to Company policies, procedures, and directives regarding standards of workplace behavior in completing job duties and assignments
Qualification
Required
Exceptional administrative and communication skills
Experience with product compliance classifications including Commodity, REACH, RoHS, TSCA, and Country of Origin
Ability to manage the Compliance Requests Planner and develop strategies to reduce response time
Collaboration skills to work with Supplier Quality Engineer and monitor vendor responses
Expertise in integrating compliance requirements into the product development process
Ability to create and maintain necessary forms and documentation for compliance
Knowledge of international regulatory and agency requirements
Experience in preparing and presenting executive summaries and performance dashboards
Management experience including recruitment, supervision, scheduling, training, performance evaluations, and professional development
