Transmission System Associate Planning Engineer, STO Transmission Planning

Responsibilities

Contribute to incorporating New York State clean energy requirements into Con Edisons Transmission Master Plan
Support short and long-term bulk electric system studies for renewable integration, including offshore wind, solar, and energy storage
Conduct thermal, voltage, short-circuit, and stability analyses to maintain system reliability
Assist in designing and planning transmission system modifications to accommodate new technologies
Analyze reliability benefits of proposed projects and provide technical input
Participate in interconnection studies for company-owned projects
Collaborate with NYISO and other stakeholders to substantiate local and bulk transmission planning efforts
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements, including NERC guidelines

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Power Engineering and Two years of relevant work experience, including one year of engineering experience related to the planning, design, or operation of the bulk electric transmission system
Exposure to the design and /or operation of the electric power system, required
Capability of using PSS/E, TARA, Aspen or equivalent power system simulation programs, required
Driver's License Required

Preferred

Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or Power Engineering and Two years of relevant work experience, including one year of engineering experience related to the planning, design, or operation of the bulk electric transmission system
