Responsibilities
Conducts daily review of suspense activity and policy accounting, identifying discrepancies with detail research taking necessary steps to resolve in a timely manner
Prepares monthly ledger account reconciliations
Reconciliation review and certification approver
Prepares and processes manual accounting journal entries
Serves as a content or technical resource within department and possesses key business understanding across other business units
Backs up other positions and performs other duties as assigned within the accounting unit
Assists in project initiatives or is assigned to specific projects or tasks
Possesses the ability to work independently
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and applicable experience
3 + years of professional experience in financial services field
Minimum of 1+ years of applicable professional accounting experience
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Effective verbal and written communication skills including the ability to influence others and communicate across all areas of the Company
Ability to make decisions, use independent judgment, establish priorities, and work effectively on multiple initiatives concurrently
Experience providing information for all levels of management
Preferred
Prefer prior policy accounting and monthly reconciliation experience, familiar with unclaimed property and 1099 tax processes including filings and applicable regulations
