Course Offering and Scheduling Coordinator
The University of Iowa is seeking a Course Offering and Scheduling Coordinator to join the Office of the Registrar. This role involves overseeing course and event scheduling, ensuring compliance with policies, and supporting the management of university classrooms and major events such as commencement.

Responsibilities
Monitor contact hours and class-time allocations for accuracy in submitted course offerings
Monitor submitted course offerings for policy adherence
Provide assistance at University Commencement ceremonies which may include pre-ceremony setup and tasks
Maintain, interpret, and assist students, faculty, and staff with questions or problems
Coordinate and consult with academic units to schedule classrooms for schedule of courses and supplemental academic special events in Ad Astra Schedule
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience (typically 1-3 years) working in a postsecondary academic setting
Demonstrates an EXTENSIVE proficiency level in knowledge of and experience with techniques and tools that promote effective analysis, including the ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve the problems
Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, or activities with a high-level of attention to detail
Operation and application of computer-based academic support systems or computer software applications related to a student information system (i.e., MAUI, PeopleSoft, Banner, etc.)
Ability to use and manage the applications within Microsoft Office Suite
Knowledge and application of a variety of communication techniques and relationship building skills, including listening skills and the ability to work with a variety of individuals and groups in a constructive and collaborative manner
Ability to work both as part of a team/work group environment and as a self-motivated individual
No regular travel is required for this position; however, optional professional development opportunities are available through the Office of the Registrar, which may occasionally involve travel
No evening or weekend work is required, except for participation in Commencement activities
Some on-campus, in-classroom presence is expected to perform routine classroom management duties, most commonly at the start and end of each academic session
Preferred
Experience (preferably 2 or more years) working directly with MAUI
Demonstrates a WORKING proficiency level in knowledge of Ad Astra or similar programs
Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures
Knowledge of regulations, familiarity with the operations of a registrar's office, and/or familiarity with classroom operations and campus facilities
Knowledge of FERPA
