Responsibilities

Work in a team environment to help deliver transportation infrastructure design projects
Lead the design effort for local projects as well as segments of larger alternative project delivery projects
Lead the production of project plans, specifications, reports and cost estimates
Prepares calculations for hydraulic and hydrologic analysis of storm drains, detention facilities, culverts, water quality (BMP/LID) features, and other related items
Prepared calculations for roadway projects in accordance with project, municipality, or DOT design standards
Be involved in all project aspects including design/study development and site/field visits during design and construction and work independently
Coordinate with other design disciplines counterparts (roadway, structural, utilities, etc.) to develop a comprehensive project design
Efficiently produce quality deliverables while meeting budget and schedules on multiple concurrent projects
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies
Ability to supervise and mentor entry level staff and be responsible for entry level staff job tasks
Implement quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures on roadway design projects

Required

BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering (or related field)
2-4 years of roadway, highway, and drainage design experience
Experience using computer assisted engineering and design (CAD) software to prepare engineering and design documents including MicroStation, Inroads and Open Roads
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office tools including Word and Excel
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Must be flexible, well organized, accountable and dependable

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) strongly preferred
