Responsibilities
Identify target markets, quantify opportunities, and evaluate commercial viability
Analyze macro-level trends including regulatory shifts, industry dynamics, geopolitical factors, and emerging technologies
Collaborate cross-functionally to align product strategy with broader business objectives
Assess total addressable market and competitive positioning across multiple regions
Monitor competitor offerings, announcements, and industry activity; synthesize insights into actionable intelligence
Conduct periodic SWOT and portfolio assessments to evaluate segment positioning
Attend industry trade shows and remain current with relevant publications and market developments
Build and maintain a balanced product pipeline combining near-term opportunities and longer-term strategic initiatives
Manage the active product portfolio to ensure alignment with customer needs, market relevance, and business goals
Lead new product development initiatives, ensuring strong project charters, financial justification, and return metrics
Develop Market Requirements Documents (MRDs) and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs) to define opportunities and solutions
Oversee intellectual property elements including trademarks, as applicable
Lead cross-functional teams through structured stage-gate development processes
Develop and manage project schedules to ensure timely product launches and revenue realization
Partner with functional leaders to ensure project deliverables, milestones, and quality standards are met
Monitor internal performance metrics including margins, cost of poor quality, and material productivity; recommend corrective actions
Incorporate customer-facing data such as VOC, market research, and Net Promoter Scores into strategy development
Ensure timelines, deliverables, and launch commitments are achieved
Serve as a subject-matter expert and internal representative for product and market knowledge
Establish credibility with key customers through technical insight, market understanding, and innovative solution development
Qualification
Required
10+ years of experience in product management or a closely related role, preferably within machinery, capital equipment, or engineered systems
Significant experience managing products within food processing, thermal systems, or adjacent technologies
Proven success leading new product development through a structured stage-gate process
Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills
Demonstrated ability to drive innovation and deliver measurable business results
Experience working across cultures and supporting international markets
Ability to lead globally through influence rather than authority
Agile learner with intellectual curiosity
Self-directed, proactive, and results-oriented
Comfortable operating in ambiguous, evolving environments
Preferred
Strong project management capabilities (PMP certification preferred)
MBA or advanced degree preferred
