Payroll Coordinator

Responsibilities

Process and maintain new-hire paperwork for accuracy and proper documentation and storage
Routinely process status changes for team members
Process end-to-end bi-weekly payroll for a subset of the larger MedVet organization in coordination under the direction of the Payroll Manager
Validate data within labor management system (missing time, exceptions, etc.) and communicate to appropriate parties to ensure an accurate payroll
Accountable for Payroll Mailbox, processing all requests and responding to inquiries effectively
Manage the Garnishment process including entry, deduction, submission, and reconciling
Assist with tax inquiries throughout the year in addition to W2 and other year-end activities

Required

Minimum of 2 years' experience with payroll processing, or equivalent experience in a finance role
Knowledge of payroll processing procedures, including wage and hour laws, tax withholding, and deductions with thorough math skills
Knowledge of standard office procedures and MSOffice products
Excellent data entry skills with accuracy and sense of timeliness
Strong organization skills
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and have good business acumen
Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to build partnerships and facilitate effective collaboration
Ability to communicate succinctly and professionally
Strong attention to detail and content with repetition
Works professionally with a strong work ethic, self-direction, and integrity

Preferred

Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or related field preferred
Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is preferred but not required
