Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain platform services, SDKs, and tooling that enable machine learning workflows, deployment patterns, and operational best practices
Build and operate cloud-native infrastructure and shared services on Google Cloud (GCP) to support ML platforms and downstream teams
Develop APIs and backend services that abstract and standardize common MLOps workflows
Translate architectural direction into concrete implementations aligned with platform standards, security requirements, and reliability goals
Partner with data scientists and application engineers to enable consistent, repeatable, and supportable ML workflows
Troubleshoot and resolve operational issues in platform services and cloud infrastructure, focusing on durable fixes and automation
Build, deploy, and operate scalable, reliable, and cost-effective ML platform components
Implement and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting platform services, ML enablement tooling, and cloud resources
Improve platform performance, scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency within the scope of the engagement
Create and maintain technical documentation describing supported MLOps patterns, platform capabilities, and usage guidelines
Support users by troubleshooting issues and guiding data scientists and engineers on effective use of ML platform tools
Qualification
Required
Strong proficiency in Java, Python, or similar languages
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform, including compute, storage, networking, VertexAI and IAM
Extensive professional software engineering experience, with a strong focus on platform, infrastructure, or backend systems
Demonstrated experience with MLOps workflows
Extensive experience designing and implementing APIs and backend services
Strong experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and Git-based workflows
Familiarity with Terraform and networking concepts
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to operate independently within a defined scope
Preferred
Experience with managed ML platforms such as Vertex AI
Familiarity with model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle patterns
Experience designing reusable infrastructure or self-service developer platforms
Familiarity with relational and NoSQL databases
Experience operating distributed systems in production environments
