Start in 2026 SummerSouthern States LLC is the largest switch manufacturer of high voltage disconnect switches in the world, providing essential products and services to electric utilities. The Co-Op Engineer will assist the Engineering Department with development activities, primarily using SolidWorks CAD software to design parts and tools for high voltage circuit switchers.

Responsibilities
Creating parts and assemblies in Solidworks from concept through to finished drawings
Building prototype circuit switchers and sub-assemblies for development testing
Collect data during testing and analyze the data to evaluate test results
Assist other engineers with continuous improvement projects within the division
Other job duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Education: Student enrolled in a four-year degree program, majoring in Mechanical Engineering (or similar degree) who has completed their freshman year of college
Experience: Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other 3D parametric CAD software
Strong hands-on, mechanical aptitude. This job requires assembling and testing prototypes. Knowing how to use tools is a must
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
