The role involves providing high-quality patient care while supporting a physician-led team in clinical coordination and workflow support without managing a personal patient panel.

Responsibilities

Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adult and geriatric patients, including history taking, physical exams, diagnosis, treatment planning, and patient education
Spend approximately 50% of time in direct patient care and 50% supporting physician colleagues and clinical workflows (no independent patient panel)
Order and interpret appropriate labs, imaging, and referrals; perform procedures within scope of practice
Collaborate closely with physicians, nursing staff, care coordinators, and specialists to ensure coordinated, patient-centered care
Support care coordination activities, including follow-up on results, referrals, and chronic disease management
Document accurately and timely in the electronic medical record, ensuring appropriate coding and compliance
Participate in quality improvement initiatives, population health efforts, and practice workflow optimization
Maintain professionalism, regulatory compliance, and active participation in provider meetings and trainings

Required

Nurse Practitioner: Master's degree from an accredited nursing program
Physician Assistant: Graduation from an accredited PA program
Active Maryland license (or ability to obtain)
Current DEA license and Maryland Controlled Dangerous Substance (CDS) license
Current BLS certification (American Heart Association or approved provider)
Unrestricted license with no history of suspension or revocation
Eligible for participation with all payers
Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-based practice
Excellent organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-based environment

Preferred

Prior experience in Internal Medicine or adult primary care preferred
Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR experience preferred)
