Business Services Manager, TFD Finance
The City of Tacoma is seeking a skilled Business Services Manager for the Tacoma Fire Department to oversee all financial operations. This role involves ensuring fiscal management, operational efficiency, and providing high-quality customer service while leading the finance team and managing various financial responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Act as primary contact to the City’s Office of Management & Budget to develop and manage the biennial budget, including developing budget proposals and presentations
Develop understanding of medical services billing and patient customer service and ensure HIPAA and Medicare & Medicaid compliance
Develop financial reporting tools to assist executives with operational decisions
Review and approve adjustments to accounts receivable and collections accounts
Oversee local, state, and federal grants performance and compliance
Ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal payroll rules, and develop understanding of multiple bargaining contracts’ impact on payroll accuracy
Provide guidance on internal controls and risk management activities to protect assets and financial position
Review and approve large contracts and purchases, ensuring procurement and budgetary authority
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or directly related field
5 years of progressively responsible analytical and/or program coordination/management work in area related to assignment including 1 year prior at senior, lead and/or supervisory level
Equivalency: 1 year of experience = 1 year of education
