Responsibilities
Writing, validation, and maintenance of organizational-level technical publications for on-equipment maintenance of C-130 B-H, C-130J or C-5 aircraft
Publications are developed in Organizational Maintenance Manual Set (OMMS) and S1000D formats
Maintained in the LM Aeronautics Virtually Integrated System for Technical Authoring (VISTA) and Contenta utilizing Standard Generalized Markup Language (SGML) and Extensible Mark-up Language (XML)
Interact and communicate with customers, engineering, and other organizations to define aircraft maintenance requirements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college
Knowledge of aircraft avionics, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
Ability to read and interpret wiring schematic and diagrams and mechanical drawings
Must be able to effectively interact and communicate with customers, engineering, and other organizations to define aircraft maintenance requirements
Must be a US Citizen; This position is located at a facility that requires special access
Preferred
Experience in manuscript authoring, editing technical and/or aircraft maintenance or operational information
Experience with Interactive Electronic Technical Publications (IETP)
Experience with military specification requirements and logistic support concepts
Aircraft maintenance experience, preferable on C-130 aircraft
Prior military or industry experience relating to aircraft avionics and knowledge of complex automated and integrated aircraft systems preferred
