Responsibilities
Design mechanical components and assemblies for wearable consumer products
Own designs from concept, CAD, prototyping, and testing through mass production
Build and evaluate prototypes; iterate designs based on test results
Perform design analysis using strong mechanical fundamentals
Design for high-volume manufacturing with DFM/DFA and tolerance considerations
Collaborate with industrial design, electrical engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers
Support design reviews, failure analysis, and continuous product improvements
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
3-10 years of experience as a Product Design Engineer in consumer electronics
Experience working on high-volume, mass-produced consumer products
Background from companies shipping products at scale (e.g., Apple, Tesla, or similar)
Strong experience in component design, prototyping, and testing
Solid design analysis skills and strong core mechanical fundamentals
Preferred
Experience with wrist-worn wearable devices (smartwatches, fitness trackers)
Experience with small form-factor, highly integrated consumer devices
Exposure to durability, environmental, and reliability testing (drop, sweat, IP ratings)
