Systems Administrator
Commonwealth of Kentucky is seeking a Systems Administrator to join the Service Desk Branch, part of the Division of Strategic Services. The role involves providing technical support and troubleshooting for various computer systems that assist in delivering health and human services to citizens of Kentucky.

Responsibilities
Provides end-user support on navigation, training, and system issues; troubleshoots technical issues for IT software including (but not limited to): TWIST (The Worker’s Information System), PCC (Private Child Care) Tracking, KY FACES (Foster Adoptive Caregiver Exchange System), and CAN (Child Abuse and Neglect) Checks
Assists in management of specific software programs; identifies, researches, and analyzes end-user requests. Collaborates with other IT professionals and leadership to identify system issues, propose solutions, and make recommendations for system development. Identifies end-user training gaps and proposes solutions or develops relevant documentation to address those gaps
Manages a record of contacts from end-users by recording them in the appropriate ticketing system (ServiceNow). Creates, updates, transfers, and resolves tickets as appropriate. Reviews and provides reports to leadership as needed
Creates, updates, and assigns User Stories for system errors/cleanups utilizing DevOps. Communicates effectively and works closely with technical teams to resolve these issues. Notifies end-users once an error/cleanup has been resolved
Participates in the testing phase of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) process. Creates, manages, and executes test plans as needed. Identifies system issues/bugs and reports findings to the appropriate technical teams. Attends meetings with IT development staff and keeps team updated on system enhancements, new processes, and any newly developed or updated workarounds
Reviews system processing guidelines and prepares for future implementation. Creates clear and concise documentation for end-user support. Promotes the use of available information resources including FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions), QRGs (Quick Reference Guides), tip sheets, etc. Manages information communications to internal and external partners

Qualification
Required
High School graduate
Two years of experience in IT systems administration, IT systems support, or IT systems analysis
Self-motivated
Able to work well under pressure
Good time management and organization skills
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Excellent listening skills
Enjoy working in a team environment
Willingness to learn new and multiple programs and systems
Preferred
Working with TWIST, the National Youth in Transition Database (NYTD), Private Child Care (PCC) Tracking, KY FACES (Foster Adoptive Caregiver Exchange System) and/or CAN (Child Abuse and Neglect) Checks
Familiarity with policy for the Division of Protection and Permanency
