Asset Reporting Analyst

Responsibilities

Support reporting and reconciliation of assets recorded in financial statements, including real property, general equipment, inventory, and other capital assets
Perform reconciliations between asset systems, sub-ledgers, and the general ledger to ensure accuracy and completeness
Assist in validating asset balances and supporting schedules used for financial reporting
Support audit testing related to asset existence, completeness, valuation, rights, and obligations
Coordinate with asset owners to collect and validate supporting documentation for audit requests
Respond to auditor inquiries and support walkthroughs related to asset processes and balances
Assist with asset capitalization, depreciation, amortization, and impairment analyses
Support tracking and reporting of asset additions, disposals, transfers, and adjustments
Validate asset data consistency across source systems and reporting outputs
Assist in tracking asset-related Notices of Findings and Recommendations (NFRs), deficiencies, and corrective action plans (CAPs)
Support remediation efforts to address asset-related audit findings and improve internal controls
Assist in validating remediation actions and supporting sustainment activities
Maintain asset-related workpapers, reconciliations, and audit support documentation
Support preparation of asset-related briefings, schedules, and metrics for Government leadership
Ensure documentation complies with FIAR guidance and Government quality standards

Required

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience
Minimum 2 years of experience supporting asset accounting, asset reporting, audit readiness, or DoD financial management programs
Working knowledge of federal financial statements and reporting requirements
Familiarity with OMB Circular A-136, USSGL, and federal accounting standards
Experience supporting DoD Components, Defense Agencies, or federal financial statement audits
Familiarity with Defense Departmental Reporting System (DDRS) or other DoD financial systems
Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight reporting deadlines
Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
Ability to clearly communicate complex financial information to technical and non-technical audiences

Preferred

Experience with federal or DoD asset reporting and audit support
