Responsibilities
Complete cost estimates for large, complex wind projects, identifying variable cost risks at every stage
Improve estimating tools and procedures for project development, contracting, and acquisition due diligence
Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop custom responses for project solicitations and maintain alignment with project assumptions
Review and analyze vendor bids relating to scope, schedule, major equipment, and execution costs
Support proposal teams to align scope of offer and pricing, including commercial terms and risk factors
Provide cost input for design optimization, value engineering, and constructability reviews
Aggregate market bids and cost estimates for integration into future cost roadmaps
Develop critical cost management reports to support leadership decisions
Partner with Construction and Project Controls teams to integrate cost-related lessons learned
Maintain a comprehensive project cost library with historical and current data
Qualification
Required
Strong estimating skills for Mechanical, Structural, Civil, and Electrical trades
Up-to-date on labor cost forecasts, city cost indices, and material pricing
Proficient in reading blueprints, specs, and bid documents; capable of quantity take-offs
Familiarity with technical components of renewable energy proposals and technical due diligence
Software proficiency: MC2/ICE, Timberline, Bluebeam Revu, AutoCAD LT, Primavera P6, MS Project
Strong verbal and written communication, organization, and teamwork skills
B.S. or Associates degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, or Cost Engineering
Minimum 3+ years' experience in project development, cost estimating, and planning within the renewable energy construction industry
Experienced in creating project cost estimates, managing databases, and reconciling estimated vs. actual costs
Proven ability in reviewing and rationalizing cost indices and market data
