Post Secondary School Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper
Confidential company is seeking an Accounting Manager/Bookkeeper to oversee the financial operations of their cosmetology school. This role involves managing budgets, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the school's growth and sustainability.

Responsibilities
Oversee the school’s financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting
Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards
Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, payroll processing, and tax filings
Monitor and manage cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable
Ensure compliance with federal and state financial regulations, including financial aid and accreditation requirements
Work with external auditors and tax professionals as needed
Manage student tuition billing, payment plans, and financial aid disbursement
Assist students with financial aid inquiries and payment arrangements
Ensure proper documentation and compliance with financial aid regulations
Support overall business functions, including vendor management and purchasing
Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to improve efficiency
Work closely with admissions and administrative staff to ensure smooth operations
Assist in grant and funding applications to support school programs
Provide financial analysis and recommendations for business growth and expansion
Monitor key financial metrics to assess school performance and profitability
Develop strategies to optimize revenue streams and cost-saving measures
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or business management
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Office Suite
Excellent organizational and analytical skills
Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to commute to Allentown, PA (Allegheny County)
Ability to relocate to Allentown, PA (Allegheny County) before starting work
Preferred
CPA or MBA
Experience in the education or cosmetology industry
